VeilDrop operates on a zero-knowledge architecture:

End-to-end encryption: All messages are encrypted client-side before being stored
No server-side decryption: The server never has access to encryption keys
Automatic deletion: Messages are automatically deleted upon expiration
No backups: We do not maintain backups of deleted data

3. Data Storage

All data is stored temporarily in encrypted form and automatically deleted based on the expiration time set by the user. We do not:

Store messages beyond their expiration time
Maintain any form of backup or archive
Retain data after deletion
Store encryption keys on the server

4. Third-Party Services

VeilDrop uses the following third-party services:

Cloudflare: DNS and edge computing (subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy)
SMTP2GO: Email delivery (subject to SMTP2GO's Privacy Policy)

5. Legal Compliance

VeilDrop complies with applicable privacy laws including:

GDPR (EU): We do not collect personal data, so GDPR data processing obligations do not apply
CCPA (California): We do not sell, share, or collect personal information as defined by CCPA
